Aidea CEO Named UST Outstanding Alumnus of 2008
President and Chief Executive Officer of globally recognized architecture design firm,
Aidea Philippines, Inc., Abelardo M. Tolentino, Jr. has been conferred The Outstanding
Thomasian Alumni (TOTAL) Award in Architecture for 2008.
Tolentino, who completed his degree in architecture at the University of Santo Tomas
(UST) in 1987, was recognized for upholding the Thomasian ideals of competence,
compassion, and commitment in professional and personal endeavors.
Following the Thomasian ideals of commitment in professional and personal endeavors,
It has always been Tolentino's dream to reverse the brain drain in the country. Hence,
when given the opportunity to lead his own company, he set his eyes on building an
all-Filipino design firm that would acknowledge the Filipino talent and create
opportunities for Filipino architects and designers to produce world-class designs
locally, without having to leave the country and be compensated equitably.
Today, Tolentino's adherence to his alma mater's ideals has come to fruition. He is
able to prove that the talent of Filipino architects and designers are at par with
the best globally and that we are able to produce professional and world-class designs.
