THE AIDEA HISTORY
AIDEA's preeminent position as one of the Philippines' most recognized and highly
ranked architectural practices in the world today is remarkable when one considers
the breadth and depth of what it has accomplished in the last 15 years.
AIDEA began as a local office for a British architectural firm in 1995 with a staff
of 15. Like all good beginnings that started out small and lean, AIDEA soon after
started spreading its wings, becoming a major architectural force in the country
and setting its sights on being recognized globally.
In 2005, AIDEA became the country's foremost user of new platforms in technology,
switching from 2D to 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) and becoming one of the
prime users of BIM in the world. It was also the same year that it introduced
Environmental Graphics in the Philippine design industry, offering fully integrated
design services to its clients.
AIDEA became an all-Filipino design firm in 2003. With the goal of establishing itself
as the leader in the Philippine design industry and with its sights to breaking into
the global design stage, AIDEA continued to spearhead new paradigms in integrated and
collaborative designs, innovating and translating visions of livable and workable
spaces into dynamic human experiences.
Fifteen years after its inception, and with a complement of 130 design professionals,
it is now at the forefront of the country's new design movement. AIDEA is now one of the
country's largest design practices as recognized by BCI Asia in 2008 and ranked No. 86
in the Building Design (BD) World Architecture 2010 Top 100 Architects.
From its humble beginnings to the present, AIDEA continues to evolve and adapt to the
never-ending changes in the global environment. Exploring new frontiers in design and
technology and setting new standards for the future.
